Metronomes

I'm only including metronomes here that I have personal experience with. It's very important for a trumpet student to have a metronome that is loud enough to be easily heard while playing the trumpet. There are probably a number of other loud metronomes on the market -- I haven't tested them all. If you are interested in purchasing a metronome that is not listed here, it's important that you test the metronome while playing before you buy it. If you can't hear the metronome very well while playing or you can only hear it when playing at soft volumes, it will not be useful. A metronome should be easily heard at all times.

This is a great value for the price. I use mine daily. It functions well as both a metronome and a tuner. It also functions as a pitch generator, which is great for intonation practice. The volume can be adjusted and it's certainly loud enough to be heard while playing trumpet. It can also be set to create various subdivisions.

I use this tuner almost daily. It's inexpensive and works very well. It has setting to sense vibration instead of sound, so I can even use it while playing in ensembles to check my intonation.
